| The card above shows the corner of Highland Avenue and West Street, seen from Heights Station. The tan building was Oliver Crisp's market; it is still standing, and is currently the location of Starbuck's Coffee. The card below looks south from the same corner. The large Victorian structure with the tower was the Low Block, which housed a druggist, offices and meeting rooms. It was torn down in the late 1930s, and replaced by the current brick building that once housed Calvert's. The Carter Mill #1 can be seen across the street. |
