The Needham Channel Programming
Tape/DVD Duplicaton Requests
| Our general procedure for duplication requests: |
If you would like a copy of any program seen on the Needham Channel, you can place your request by calling us at (781) 449-6964. You will be asked to provide your name, telephone number, and the name of the show you would like copied. Upon completion of the copy you will be notified by phone, and you may pick up the tape or disc at our Chestnut Street studio during regular office hours. The cost of this service is $15 per program and a blank VHS Cassette, unless otherwise indicated by staff. You may also request to have a program on DVD-R (Check your DVD player’s instruction manual to see if disks are compatible). The cost of this service is also $15 per program, unless otherwise indicated by staff. The turn-around time on duplication requests is generally a week, but varies according to the scope of the project..
We are not able to process credit cards, so payment must be made by cash or check. Checks should be made payable to: NCTDC.
For tape/dvd requests from outside the Needham area: Mail us your request with a blank VHS cassette, a postage-paid, self-addressed envelope and a check for payment. We will phone you upon completion of the tape, to notify you that the tape has been mailed to you. Our address is:The Needham Channel

Please note that all programs are copyrighted to their producers, the Needham Channel, and/or other licensing agencies. The tapes produced at the Needham Channel are intended for private home-use only. Additional duplication without permission of the Needham Channel is prohibited.

Price per DVD: $15
Multiple Disc DVDs: $20
Price per VHS: $15 plus VHS Cassette
For Needham Channel Programming:
For each program produced at the Needham Channel, we will allow for two free copies for the program producer and one for each on screen talent. If the talent is part of a team, or group, that group is entitled to one free copy. The team or group can also purchase them in bulk (5+ copies) at a discounted rate of $10/disc. Likewise, if an individual wishes to purchase a series of discs which includes five discs or more, the series may be sold at $10/disc. This does not include programs which need to be mastered on multiple DVDs for quality purposes. If making a bulk purchase of those, the price is $15 per set.
The Needham Channel may under certain circumstances opt to produce programs in cooperation with a town department or non-profit organization that is not intended for cablecasting. Additionally, there may be programs produced at the Needham Channel under joint copyright that an institution may wish to sell or distribute. Such projects are not covered by the above policy, and must be negotiated on a project-by-project basis with the Needham Community Television Development Corporation.
For Videos not produced at the Needham Channel.
The Needham Channel will not duplicate programs that are not produced at the Needham Channel with exception of those productions produced by a Needham organization externally for air at the Needham Channel where it can be demonstrated that they have the rights to the content of their video and permission for the duplication thereof. If those conditions are met, duplication can be negotiated with the Needham Community Television Development Corporation
The above policy may be amended and the prices changed at any time by vote of the Needham Community Television Development Corporation.
