[edit] Statewide Clean Energy Survey
August, 2007 - The Civil Society Institute released the results of a statewide survey commissioned by it and carried out by Opinion Research Corporation that shows that a "solid majority" of Massachusetts residents across the political spectrum want Massachusetts to become a national leader in alternative energy technology and also support projects such as Cape Wind.
Highlights include:
- 93% of Massachusetts residents agree that Massachusetts should be "a national leader in using cleaner and renewable energy on a large scale by moving ahead with offshore wind power" and other clean energy initiatives.
- 84% of Massachusetts residents (including 58% of Cape residents) support the Cape Wind offshore wind farm project
- 88% of Massachusetts residents think Governor Patrick should follow California Governor Schwarzengger "when it comes to state government leadership on global warming solutions and the promotion of clean, renewable energy."
